The Columbus Film Council and Brothers Drake Meadery are proud to sponsor a series of documentaries that both inform and inspire created by organizations that have successfully leveraged the power of short film for social change.
Capturing the interest of audiences in the internet age presents new challenges for nonprofits and community organizations. But with the advent of Facebook and Twitter comes the ability for anyone to easily share compelling stories of perseverance and triumph through short form filmmaking. Learn from the diverse examples of nonprofits — large and small — how to turn moving stories into moving images that make a difference.
Whether you want to celebrate your achievements or elevate your organization's mission, this community-focused screening with interactive discussion will provide actionable insights for organizers, volunteers, filmmakers or anyone interested in how documentary shorts can serve a greater good.
Screening and discussion to be moderated by J.R. McMillan, president of the Columbus Film Council. McMillan's experience in both nonprofit advocacy and motion picture marketing spans two decades and includes work as a script consultant, screenwriting instructor, professional fundraiser and public radio producer.
Admission is free, donations encouraged.
